The judging panel at Warrambeen Film Festival is made up of a mixture of industry and non industry people to give a balanced assessment of the finalist films.
Judges include for 2012:
Nicholas Bell- Nicholas Bell has worked overseas and in Australia as an actor for the past 30 years. Film credits include Shine, Dead Letter Office, The Dish, Mission Impossible II, Charlottes Web and Noise. TV credits include Inspector Morse, The Agatha Christie Hour, All Saints, City Homicide, Underbelly, Newstopia, The Games, and Dirt Game. He has worked in theatre all his career with such companies as the Melbourne Theatre Company, the Sydney Theatre Company and the Royal Shakespeare Company. This year nicholas will be seen in the Phryne Fisher Mysteries and Jack Irish for the ABC. He is currently working on the feature film I, Frankenstein.
Tom Wren- Tom Wren, known best for his leading role as Dr Doug Graham in Channel 7’s Winners & Losers and a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts is joining us in 2012. With appearances in Rush, City Homicide and Bed of Roses (to name a few), Tom has a love for short film and is excited about the opportunity to judge our short list of entrants.
Chris Milligan- In 2008, Milligan began his acting career in the soap opera Neighbours, playing the character of Kyle Canning. In 2009, he played a cameo role as a student on the Australian police drama Rush. In late 2009, Milligan filmed thirteen episodes on the television series Dead Gorgeous in which he played main character, David. He played a part in the HBO miniseries The Pacific for all ten episodes.
Margaret Lindley- writer for the Geelong Advertiser and great supporter of Warrambeen Film Festival.
Bruce Wilson- a crop and free range pig farmer, Bruce is well known in the district for his excellent farming practices. Bruce loves a short film or two and will add a strong 'rural' focus to the panel.
Sally Ferris- The girlie part of the crew at Geelong’s community radio station, 94.7 The Pulse, Sally is responsible for the marketing and promotions at the station. You can hear Sally on her Drive Show with co-host Gary, on 94.7 The Pulse, where just about anything can and does happen. Opinionated, honest and with a long term passion for the Arts including studies in Performing Arts and Media, Sally is excited to be on the judging panel of the Warrambeen Film Festival.
Natalie Ward- journalist with the Weekly Times, Natalie has been a long time supporters of Warrambeen Film Festival.
Jordy Lucas- Prior to appearing in Neighbours, Jordy appeared in a number of dramas including Blue Heelers and Bed of Roses. In 2009 it was announced that she was joininng Neighbours to play the role of Summer Hoyland. We welcome Jordy to her first Warrambeen Film Festival
